Getting here and getting around

ShoppingGetting to ‘the Alice’, as it is affectionately known,  is easy. It boasts a fully serviced airport that runs regular domestic flights to all major Australian cities. Alternatively, why not drive? Taking a few days to drive to Alice Springs is a great opportunity to kick off your Central Australian adventure. There are plenty of recommended driving routes to follow with lots to see and do on the way. Visit Tourism NT’s driving holidays page for more information. Getting around Alice Springs in a car is easy; there are only eight sets of traffic lights and you will rarely see a traffic jam.

Once you are here, you’ll find local public transport is reliable and convenient, with buses running regular services throughout the week. Alice also offers an efficient taxi and mini-bus service – in fact no taxi ride within the Alice Springs residential area is more than 10 minutes long!
