A unique educational experience for the kids
The Northern Territory education system aligns with that of the rest of Australia. Education is compulsory for children between six and fifteen years old. The first year of primary school is known as ‘transition’, a period that prepares children for formal education. Early school encompasses pre-school to grade three, primary school grades four to six, middle school from grades seven to nine and senior year’s grades 10 to 12.
During senior school, students complete the Northern Territory Certificate of Education, a qualification recognised by all Australian colleges and universities. Senior students can also complete vocational education programs as part of their schooling, and partake in school-based apprenticeships.
Formal education is only one avenue for developing your children’s learning in the Territory. Spending time in Alice Springs will provide your whole family with unique cultural experiences and expand your knowledge of Australia’s history and geography. Additionally, the relaxed lifestyle will give you more time to spend together as a family enjoying the region together, travelling and exploring new opportunities.
